Vivian Vargas was born in Los Angeles, California. Her mother is an artist and art teacher.
Her father documented family events in the 1950’s and 60’s with an 8mm camera.
Since 2014 her photographic work has been an exploration of the abstract manifestations
of light and water viewed from her sea kayak, the alienation expressed in artificial light,
and a focus on the details that construct culture and life at home and abroad.
